To comply with Canadian regulations, dogs must have:

  1. Rabies vaccination (mandatory for dogs over 3 months).
  2. Additional recommended vaccines (distemper/parvo, Bordetella).
  3. Deworming & parasite prevention (fleas, ticks, heartworm).
  4. Veterinary health certificate (completed by a certified vet).

We arrange all transport logistics. You’ll be responsible for picking up your dog upon arrival at airport.

The adoption process takes about two weeks.Once approved, we start looking for a Flight Angel—a kind volunteer who will ensure your dog’s safe journey to their new forever home! The time it takes for your dog to fly depends on flight volunteer availability and any required quarantine periods

This fee helps cover:

  • Veterinary care (vaccinations, deworming, health checks).
  • Travel crate
  • Collar and tag

*Transportation costs are additional and depend on airline.

You must:

  • Schedule a vet checkup & microchipping within 14 days.
  • Follow through with scheduled video check ins 1 week, 1 month, 6  months and 1 year post adoption.
  • Provide lifelong care, including proper food, shelter, and exercise.
  • Keep the dog indoors as a family pet (no outdoor living).
  • Continue heartworm prevention as advised by a vet.
  • Report any lost/stolen dog immediately.

No. You must contact Ranchito Rescate if the dog isn’t a fit. Reselling or rehoming without approval is prohibited.

Currently we only facilitate adoptions to Canada. However, we would consider expanding to new countries if it means more dogs find loving homes.

We encourage educating children on respectful interaction (no hitting, grabbing, or invading the dog’s space).

We conduct four follow-up video calls at scheduled intervals to ensure a smooth transition. However, we are always here to help in between scheduled follow ups.

You must contact Ranchito Rescate immediately. We will help find a solution—never abandon or rehome the dog independently.
